Water from Fountain of Nations to be Reintroduced to Epcot Water Feature
To make way for the exciting updates coming to Epcot as part of the largest transformation in the park’s history, fans recently said a fond farewell to several locations throughout Future World, including the beloved Fountain of Nations.
To honor Epcot’s heritage while also looking ahead to its exciting future, Melissa Valiquette (Epcot Vice President) and Zach Riddley (Portfolio Executive, Walt Disney Imagineering) were joined by two current Epcot Cast Members to collect water from this iconic fountain.
On Epcot’s opening day, delegations from countries all over the world participated in the Ceremony of International Waters, pouring water from their home countries into the Fountain of Nations from special vessels.
As part of the special moment to celebrate Epcot’s evolution, the vessel from the Switzerland delegation and a beautiful vase (a gift from the Mexico delegation) were brought out from the Walt Disney Archives.
Later in Epcot’s evolution, the water collected from the Fountain of Nations will be re-introduced into one of the new water features to honor Epcot’s past and to celebrate its exciting future.

Cast Members Get a First Look at Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
On a recent visit to Walt Disney World Resort, Bob Chapek (chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products) surprised a select group of Cast Members with a first look into the development of the all-new Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction that’s scheduled to open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2020.
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will be the first ever ride-through attraction themed to Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
The attraction will feature a new story, a lovable new theme song and new technologies that will transport guests into the wacky and unpredictable world of Disney Channel’s Emmy Award-winning “Mickey Mouse” cartoon shorts.
On the attraction, one magical moment will allow guests to step into the movie and onto Goofy’s train for a wacky, wild ride.
Epcot Forever Testing On Select Nights
Guests staying at one of the resorts in the Epcot Resort area should be aware that fireworks testing will take place at Epcot on select nights after park clear throughout the month of September. These tests should conclude by 12 a.m.
Since these tests include the use of pyrotechnics, loud noises might be heard from some rooms at the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin hotels, Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, and Disney’s BoardWalk Resort.
The new “Epcot Forever” nighttime spectacular officially debuts on October 1, 2019 at Epcot.
