Possible Park Impacts from 2019 Holiday Special Filming

Filming for upcoming television specials will take place at the Magic Kingdom Park on Saturday, November 9 and Sunday, November 10; for this reason, select Magic Kingdom Park offerings will have altered operating hours/showtimes or will not be presented on those dates.

ENTERTAINMENT IMPACTS ON NOV. 9-10:

•Let the Magic Begin (Welcome Show) will be audio only.

•The Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party may take place at 11:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m.

Once Upon a Time

Throughout the week, the Main Street Bypass may be utilized to direct Guests around Main Street, U.S.A./Castle Hub.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Due to the unpredictable nature of television production, additional adjustments may occur once filming begins.

Fireworks and other special effects, such as holiday lighting on the castle, may be used as part of production performances. Character set times and locations may be adjusted throughout the week.

Disney Holiday Filming Schedule Released for Walt Disney World

The dates have been announced for the taping of ABC’s and Disney Channel’s annual holiday specials featuring live performances by musical acts at Walt Disney World.

The special’s filming will be taking place November 7, 9, and 10 and similar to last year, the shoot will be taking place at both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom.

At this time, ABC has not yet revealed who is set to host the special, nor who is set to perform.

2018 Christmas Parade Filming Details

Like last year, no parade will be filmed at Walt Disney World. Rather, ABC will film Disneyland’s parade for its multiple holiday specials airing in November and December.

ABC will film musical and stage performances at Walt Disney World, using cast members as audience extras. No tickets will be issued to guests, but performances may be visible from guest areas.

Filming will take place on November 7-11 (dates as always subject to change).

Animal Kingdom Filming to Take Place November 12

The Walt Disney World Resort is filming television specials that will air on ABC and Disney Channel in November and December.

Filming will take place during both daytime and evening hours in all Walt Disney World theme parks. On Saturday (November 12, 2016), filming is scheduled to take place in front of the Tree of Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. The three live performances will take place at 12:30 p.m., 3 p.m., and 6 p.m.

On November 12, several operational impacts are anticipated. Be aware of the following adjustments:

“Winged Encounters” will not have any performances (other than as part of rope drop);

“Viva Gaia,” “Sunset Serenatas,” and “Discovery Island Carnivale” will not perform;

Wilderness Explorers’ flamingo badge will be available at a nearby location;

Tarzan will continue to greet Guests, but will not have an alternate location for inclement weather.

Disney PhotoPass will have a different location near the Tree of Life.

Christmas Special Filming Details Announced

Disney Christmas Special filming will take place from November 9-13 2016 at all four Walt Disney World theme parks. The parade itself will be filmed exclusively at Disneyland, with Disney World hosting stage show performances.

Guests will be able to view the filming, which will take place during regular park hours, but there will not be tickets made available for guests to be in the audience.

Look for the specials to air on both ABC and Disney Channel throughout November and December.

Black•ish Filming in Animal Kingdom

ABC’s hit series “Black-ish” will film on location at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. In the episode, titled “VIP,” Dre decides to take his entire family on the magical, first-class vacation experience he was never able to have as a kid.

On Aug. 23 and 25, cast and crew will be at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park; as a result, on Aug. 25, Dawa Bar and Tamu Tamu Refreshments (located in the Africa themed area) will not open to park Guests until late afternoon.

Additionally, several Entertainment sets will be moved to allow for filming in the area. These include:

Tam Tam Drummers of Harambe will have relocated sets at 10:55 a.m, 11:55 a.m., 12:55 p.m.

Muziki will have relocated sets at 10:25 a.m., 11:25 a.m., 12:45 p.m.

Harambe Soccer Meerkats will have a relocated set at 3:40 p.m.

The “Black-ish” episode that will be filmed in the park is expected to air on September 21, 2016.
