Epcot Forever Testing On Select Nights
Guests staying at one of the resorts in the Epcot Resort area should be aware that fireworks testing will take place at Epcot on select nights after park clear throughout the month of September. These tests should conclude by 12 a.m.
Since these tests include the use of pyrotechnics, loud noises might be heard from some rooms at the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin hotels, Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, and Disney’s BoardWalk Resort.
The new “Epcot Forever” nighttime spectacular officially debuts on October 1, 2019 at Epcot.

Epcot Friendship Boats Now on Modified Schedule
Disney’s original plans to temporarily interrupt Friendshipboat service to Epcot’s International Gateway park entrance have once again been modified.
The boat dock at the International Gateway will now remain in operation until at 9:30 PM each night while work is being done on the nearby Disney’s Skyliner station and suspension cables. Thus, Friendship boat service to and from the International Gateway dock will operate as normal until 9:30 PM, offering guests a convenient transportation option to travel between Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and the resorts on Crescent Lake, including Disney’s BoardWalk Inn & Villas, Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, and the Swan and Dolphin Resort.
Previously, it had been announced that the Friendship boats would not be able to service the International Gateway while the Skyliner cables were being installed in that area.
Guests planning on using the Friendship boat service are advised to check with Disney cast members or resort staff to confirm the hours of daily operation. It is not known at this time how long the 9:30 PM curfew will remain in effect.
Skyliner Construction will Affect Friendship Boat Service to Epcot
As Disney Skyliner construction continues near International Gateway at Epcot in the coming months, the International Gateway entrance will remain open to guests traveling along the connected pedestrian walkway.
During construction, Friendship Boat service will remain available to the resort hotels around Crescent Lake as well as Disney’s Hollywood Studios, while service to Epcot is expected to be unavailable from late November until late December. During that time, guests will be able to use bus service or the walkway to access Epcot.

AbracadaBar to Open at Boardwalk
Coming later this year, located next to the renovated Flying Fish, is a curious lounge, the AbracadaBar.
While we have no concept art yet, Disney has released some intriguing details about it. Described as a “curious cocktail bar”, it combines the golden age of design with the magic of Disney storytelling.
According to WDI, it was once the stomping grounds of world famous magicians, local Boardwalk illusionists, and the loveliest magician assistants of the day. The story goes, after their shows, they would gather here to conjure up new cocktails, swap stories, and “out-illusion” each other.
According to Boardwalk lore, it was on one of these legendary nights that every one of them vanished into thin air, never to be seen again. The space sat vacant for 70 years, and once again, guests will soon be welcomed back to the exclusive social club. It is said their magic lingers there, and guests can expect to see, hear, and savor it in the lounge’s signature cocktails. Enchanted magic show posters & mystifying mirrors add to the mystique of the club.
We will post more information & menus as they are made available…til then…have a magical day.
Flying Fish Preview
When Flying Fish at the Boardwalk resort reopens later this summer, it will drop the “Cafe” from its name.
This indicates the move to a more sophisticated re-imagining of the beloved restaurant. Sustainable fish will be the star of the new menu & manager/sommalier Stig Jacobson is more than happy with the plans for a new interior which include more room for wine storage. He plans to add more “hidden gems” to the wine list.
