Electrical Water Pageant Times Change for Summer

The showtimes for the Electrical Water Pageant at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will be adjusted this summer due to the temporary change in showtime for the Happily Ever After fireworks show at Magic Kingdom Park.

From Sunday, May 20 to Saturday, August 18 the parade will take place at the following times:

• Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort: 8:40 p.m.
• Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa: 8:55 p.m.

 

Grand Floridian Changes to Tea Party & Pool Hours

Starting from this week, “Disney’s Perfectly Princess Tea” (a special event that regularly takes place at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa) will begin at 9 a.m. every day except Tuesdays and Thursdays. “Afternoon Tea” (a separate event that takes place at the same resort) will be available from noon–4 p.m. daily. For booking, Guests are invited to visit the “My Disney Experience” website or app. Guests may also visit the resort’s Concierge desk to learn more about these events.

Additionally, starting from this month, the Beach Pool and the Beach Pool Water Play Area at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will operate during the hours of 10 a.m.-8 p.m. The operating hours of the Courtyard Pool will remain 7 a.m.-11 p.m.

July 4th Celebration Planned at Grand Floridian Resort

Tickets for this new event cost $120 plus tax for adults, and $59 plus tax for ages 3 – 9. Along with specialty alcoholic drinks, the menu will include grilled steak and shrimp, with desserts served on the Marina.

The finale of the evening is a viewing of the Magic Kingdom’s fireworks from the resort.

Grand Floridian Garden Party is Back

Guests of all ages are invited to visit the Mary Poppins Garden, located outside the exit of 1900 Park Fare at the front of the resort, for an evening of relaxation at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

The Garden Party is scheduled to place on Saturday, December 17, from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. During this special event, Guests will enjoy live music and will be able to purchase unique cocktails. No reservations are required, and everyone is welcome to attend.

Grand Floridian to Begin Private Water Taxi Service

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is introducing a new private water taxi service beginning  today. Costing $20 each way per boat, the service can transport up to 10 guests, and is available between 8am and 6pm. To make a reservation, call the the Grand Floridan recreation line at 321-318-8212.

Return service has to be booked separately, based on a availability, and may not be available from the Magic Kingdom.

The boat departs from the recreation marina, near to the Sugar Loaf building. Monorail, watercraft, and bus transportations remain complimentary for all guests, and are not affected by the new water taxi service.

Overnight Testing At MK

All guests planning on staying at one of the Disney resorts located around the Seven Seas Lagoon (including the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Polynesian Village Resort, Contemporary Resort) and Bay Lake (Wilderness Lodge, Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground) are advised that overnight entertainment tests will take place inside the Magic Kingdom Park from a few hours after park close until park open on October 21, October 25-28, and November 1-4.

On these dates, fireworks, audio, projection, and lighting will be tested and may be visible (or audible) from the surrounding resorts. Contact your resort’s front desk for additional information.

Grand Floridian Garden Party & Victoria & Albert’s Hours Change

Guests staying at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa are invited to join Cast Members in the Mary Poppins garden, located outside the 1900 Park Fare exit at the front of the resort, for a relaxing night of live music and unique seasonal cocktails for purchase. The “Grand Floridian Garden Party” will take place on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 7–10 p.m. No reservations are required, and all Guests are welcome to attend (even those that won’t be staying overnight at the resort).

In addition to that, beginning Tuesday, Nov. 1, the operating hours of Victoria & Albert’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will change. The restaurant will operate nightly from 5:30–8 p.m.

Monorail Station Work at Grand Floridian

Beginning Friday, August 12, maintenance teams will be working nightly on third shift to re-coat the monorail Guest platform and stairs for the next 5-6 weeks.

During this time, some portions of the monorail platform at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will be temporarily inaccessible to Guests, but all monorails will operate as normal. Guests staying overnight at the resort may see the monorails parked at the station for an extended period of time and hear some noise.
