Holiday Special Filming at Hollywood Studios
Filming for upcoming television specials will take place on Thursday, November 7 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios; for this reason, one of the park’s entertainment offerings will have altered show times and some Guest walkways may be temporarily closed.
•ENTERTAINMENT IMPACTS ON NOV. 7:
Show times for Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away will be adjusted to 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7.
The mobile performance platforms will leave Center Stage following the 12:30 p.m. show.
The path of travel for guests as they enter the park may be altered, including the use of a bypass, if needed.
While some portions of the filming may take place before or after park operating hours, guests are welcome to observe the filming as it takes place during standard park operating hours, as space permits.

Disney Holiday Filming Schedule Released for Walt Disney World
The dates have been announced for the taping of ABC’s and Disney Channel’s annual holiday specials featuring live performances by musical acts at Walt Disney World.
The special’s filming will be taking place November 7, 9, and 10 and similar to last year, the shoot will be taking place at both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom.
At this time, ABC has not yet revealed who is set to host the special, nor who is set to perform.

Festival of Fantasy Time Change
Starting Friday, August 16 and continuing through the holiday season, the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade will take place at 2 p.m. daily at the Magic Kingdom Park.
The parade will take place at 3 p.m. starting from January 2020 (the exact date hasn’t been revealed yet).
Woody’s Roundup BBQ Coming in July
Sheriff Woody and his Toy Story pals are heading to Disney’s Contemporary Resort to put on a shindig that will feature games, crafts, and barbeque goodness.
The holiday weekend celebration will be offered nightly July 4 through 6 from 6:15 p.m. – 9:15 p.m. and the scene will be set as a “larger-than-life recreation playset of Woody’s Roundup—a rustic, wild western town.”
Woody, Jessie, Bullseye, and Buzz Lightyear will be on-hand and guests can sing and dance as Mr. Microphone plays some of Woody’s favorite tunes.
Playtime activities will include:
•Trick Roping Demonstration
•Camp-style Carnival Games
•Toy Story Craft Station
A balloon artist will be roaming around and creating favorite Toy Story toys.
Guests will experience the following fireworks shows from the Porte Cochere which provides a spectacular view. Each show begins at approximately 9:15 PM:

The event will be held in the Fantasia Ballroom at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The price is $149 for ages 10 and up; $99 for ages 3-9 – tax and gratuity are included.
Disney Dining Plan entitlements may not be redeemed for this event. Discounts and promotions are not available. Reservations can be made now on Disney’s site.
Tables for this event will be assigned and multiple parties will be seated together.
2018 Christmas Parade Filming Details
Like last year, no parade will be filmed at Walt Disney World. Rather, ABC will film Disneyland’s parade for its multiple holiday specials airing in November and December.
ABC will film musical and stage performances at Walt Disney World, using cast members as audience extras. No tickets will be issued to guests, but performances may be visible from guest areas.
Filming will take place on November 7-11 (dates as always subject to change).
New Year’s Eve Road & Parking Lot Closures at WDW
In preparation for the high volume of crowds expected at Walt Disney World on December 30 and 31 for the New Year’s Eve holiday, warnings of road and parking lot closures have been announced. Disney is also encouraging guests to allow for extra travel time during this busy upcoming holiday as well as to be sure to pay attention to road closure and detour signs.
Here are the details:
Seven Seas Drive: Dec. 30 & 31 from 6–11 p.m.
Seven Seas Drive will be one-way only. All traffic will be routed west on Seven Seas Drive toward Floridian Way.
Magic Kingdom Park: Dec. 31 from 10 p.m.–2:30 a.m.
All Magic Kingdom Guests will be routed to exit property via southbound World Drive. All eastbound exits from southbound World Drive will be restricted to authorized vehicles ONLY. Westbound exits will be open.
Epcot: Dec. 31 from 10 p.m.–2:30 a.m.
The exit from the Wonder lot onto Epcot Center Drive will be open. The exit from Epcot Center Drive onto Backstage Lane will be authorized vehicles ONLY.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Dec. 31 from 10 p.m.–2:30 a.m.
All Guests will be directed to exit from the park onto eastbound Buena Vista Drive. Traffic will be routed onto Victory Way toward Osceola Parkway, where normal traffic patterns will resume.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park: Dec. 31 from 10 p.m.–2:30 a.m.
All Guests will be directed to exit via Osceola Parkway as normal.
Disney Springs: Dec. 31 from 10 p.m.–2:30 a.m.
Guest traffic from Disney Springs will be directed to exit in both directions onto Buena Vista Drive. Eastbound Buena Vista Drive traffic will be routed toward Hotel Plaza Boulevard. Westbound Buena Vista Drive traffic be routed toward the new Epcot Center Drive access ramps.

Phase 1 Closure
Casual visitors are turned away at the automobile toll plazas. This means that people without tickets, those with one-day, single-park tickets, and those intending to use cast member passes will not be allowed to park.
Other guests may enter such as:
- Those with multi-day or multi-park tickets
- Those staying at a Disney Resort
- Annual Passholders
- Those re-entering the park that day.
- Those “hopping” from another park.
- Those with in-park reservations or appointments.
- Those arriving via Disney transportation
Phase 2 Closure
The only guests allowed through the turnstiles and into the parking lots are:
- Those staying at a Disney Resort
- Annual Passholders
- Those re-entering the park that day.
- Those “hopping” from another park.
