Names Revealed for Club 33 Locations in WDW

Club-33-Logo-529x600

Walt Disney imagined an elegant, exclusive club that would serve as a place for conversation, and, in turn, be a conversation piece in its own right. Club 33 would become the private, luxurious, yet relaxed setting Walt had envisioned, and it opened its doors at Disneyland Resort on June 15, 1967.

Now, 50 years later, a new chapter in the club’s history has begun at Walt Disney World Resort, with the opening of four Club 33 lounges beginning in 2018 with the Spotlight Lounge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Each of the planned lounges will have its own unique story and connection to Walt Disney. For example, at Spotlight Lounge, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the elegant space recreates the stylish “green room” experience of a major film awards ceremony and celebrates Walt’s award-winning cinematic career. Club 33 members may now or in the near future also experience Constellation Club at Epcot, Captain’s Quarters at Magic Kingdom Park, and Harambe House at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

Work has begun in preparation for multiple refurbishment projects at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts. To ensure guests have a great dining experience throughout the refurbishment, some of the existing food & beverage offerings will be moved to other areas of the resort for a limited time. One of these will be Captain’s Grille, which will be relocated to Ariel’s on May 26 until fall 2017 due to refurbishment. The final day of operation for Captain’s Grille and the Ale & Compass Lounge will be May 24.

While the restaurant will be operating in this temporary location (which can be accessed via the Resort lobby), the breakfast buffet will not be available. À la carte options will still be available to guests.

AbracadaBar to Open at Boardwalk

ABL309824

Coming later this year, located next to the renovated Flying Fish, is a curious lounge, the AbracadaBar.

While we have no concept art yet, Disney has released some intriguing details about it. Described as a “curious cocktail bar”, it combines the golden age of design with the magic of Disney storytelling.

According to WDI, it was once the stomping grounds of world famous magicians, local Boardwalk illusionists, and the loveliest magician assistants of the day. The story goes, after their shows, they would gather here to conjure up new cocktails, swap stories, and “out-illusion” each other.

According to Boardwalk lore, it was on one of these legendary nights that every  one of them vanished into thin air, never to be seen again. The space sat vacant for 70 years, and once again, guests will soon be welcomed back to the exclusive social club. It is said their magic lingers there, and guests can expect to see, hear, and savor it in the lounge’s signature cocktails. Enchanted magic show posters & mystifying mirrors add to the mystique of the club.

We will post more information & menus as they are made available…til then…have a magical day.
