As Disney Skyliner construction continues near International Gateway at Epcot in the coming months, the International Gateway entrance will remain open to guests traveling along the connected pedestrian walkway.

During construction, Friendship Boat service will remain available to the resort hotels around Crescent Lake as well as Disney’s Hollywood Studios, while service to Epcot is expected to be unavailable from late November until late December. During that time, guests will be able to use bus service or the walkway to access Epcot.

Changes to Minnie Van Service

mvl789463

Several changes have been made recently to the Minnie Van service that was introduced across the Walt Disney World Resort a little more than a year ago.

When the service first debuted, the charge was a flat fee of $20 for transportation anywhere on Walt Disney World property. The price increased to a flat fee of $25 several months ago. Now, the price has changed yet again. Instead of a flat fee, the price for your trip will vary based on the distance traveled. You’ll see the total cost and pay for the service as usual through the Lyft app.

A few months ago, the Minnie Van service was expanded to include shuttle service to and from Orlando International Airport. You can now book this service, which costs $150 one way, up to six months in advance by calling (407) WDW-PLAY or (407) 939-7529. NOTE: You still can not arrange for the airport shuttle service through the Lyft app.

For arrivals: You’ll be picked up near the baggage claim escalators in Orlando International Airport.

For departures: If you’re traveling domestically, Disney asks that you schedule your Minnie Van pick-up at least two hours prior to your flight departure time, and at least three hours before your flight departure if you’re flying internationally.

Even though the Minnie Vans can hold up to eight medium-sized suitcases, you can check your bags in advance at Resort Airport Services/Check-In. (You can’t send your bags separately on Disney’s Magical Express, though.)

The Minnie Van airport shuttle can pick up or drop off from the airport to any Walt Disney World Resort hotel.

Service is NOT available for the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel, Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel, Four Seasons Orlando, Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels, Walt Disney World Gateway Hotels and Walt Disney World Good Neighbor Hotels.

New Magical Express Buses to Debut This Year

The Walt Disney World Resort just announced that work has begun to replace the existing Disney’s Magical Express motorcoaches with brand-new vehicles that feature an all-new design.

These coaches will be seen on Central Florida roadways, transporting Guests between Orlando International Airport and select Walt Disney World Resort hotels.

To match the look of the Disney Cruise Line motorcoach fleet, the new Disney’s Magical Express coaches will display the iconic “Disney” script and will read Disney Magical Express.  And, of course, it wouldn’t be Disney without the help of some beloved Disney characters!  On the outside of the vehicle, guests will see Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and Pluto all joining along for the ride.

In partnership with Walt Disney Imagineering, the Disney’s Magical Express team (under the leadership of Jo-Ann Arndt and Kelly Kinner) has been hard at work creating the new look.

“We believe our guests will be ‘wowed’ by the new Disney’s Magical Express design when they see our motorcoaches,” Kelly said. “It will bring that special smile we see so often when our Guests first spot our Disney characters.”

Keep an eye out for the newest motorcoaches to make their debut this summer.
