Guest impacts at EPCOT for the Wine & Dine Half Marathon on Sunday, Nov. 4:

Friendship Boat Transportation to and from Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be delayed until 9 a.m. Guests can utilize bus transportation from the Epcot Resorts and Epcot.

From approximately 6:15 – 10 a.m., all Guests must utilize the crosswalks to safely cross the race course at the following three locations:

•ANIMAL KINGDOM:

The following roads surrounding Disney’s Animal kingdom will be temporarily closed during the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon on Sunday, November 4:

Osceola Parkway Eastbound from Buena Vista Dr. to World Dr. closed for race course from 4:30-9 a.m.

Western Way closed in both directions from 5-8 a.m.

Additionally, Runners will be in the park from approximately 5:45-8 a.m., and a crosswalk will be added near the Main Entrance to assist Guests in crossing the course.

•DISNEY’S HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS

Operational impacts for Sunday, Nov. 4:

Runners are expected to enter Disney’s Hollywood Studios at approximately 6:10 a.m. and should be clear of the park by 9:15 a.m. Due to the race course, Guests entering the park during the race will be directed behind Keystone Clothiers to access all park areas.

The right side of Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard will only be accessible via the race course crosswalk, located at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard.

The smoking location by Tower of Terror will be unavailable until 9:30 a.m.

Friendship boat transportation to and from Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be delayed until 9 a.m. Bus transportation will be available for applicable Guests.

As a reminder, morning Extra Magic Hours has been adjusted to evening Extra Magic Hours on Monday, Nov. 5.

Road Closures on Saturday, Nov. 4, and Sunday, Nov. 5

To accommodate the weekend’s multiple events, major roads, including World Drive, Osceola Parkway, and Epcot Center Drive will be closed or operating under traffic restrictions starting at 3 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3 and 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 4. Drivers should closely follow roadway signs and allow for extra travel time.

WDW Marathon Guest Impacts

The Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend presented by Cigna will celebrate its 25th anniversary as it returns to Walt Disney World Resort January 3-7 with a series of events leading up to the big race that winds through each theme park and ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

As one of the largest sporting events in Central Florida, and one of the nation’s top destination races, this special event is expected to draw more than 100,000 fans, spectators and runners from around the globe.

Theme Park Impacts

Special 25th Anniversary photo op at mile 25:
To celebrate the 25 years running, a special photo op will be set up at the 25th mile marker located on the bridge between France and International Gateway, near the entrance to the French Island at Epcot. The photo op will be installed after park hours on Saturday, Jan. 6 and will be removed after park hours on Sunday, Jan. 7.

Epcot (Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018):

  • There will be three in-park crosswalk locations at Epcot that Guests should use to safely cross the race course:
    • Between the Charter Lot and the Sales Gate;
    • Pin Central East towards Test Track/Mission Space;
    • Pin Central West towards Soarin’/The Seas with Nemo & Friends.
  • Guests will receive buckslips at the Auto Plaza and Main Entrance informing them of race impacts.

Epcot (Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018):

  • Friendship Boat Transportation to and from Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be delayed until 1 p.m. Guests will have the option to utilize bus transportation from the Epcot Resorts and Epcot.

Disney Resorts Impacts:
Due to the Walt Disney World Marathon, Narcoossee’s brunch hours will be adjusted to 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 7. Narcoossee’s is located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

The Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend returns to the Walt Disney World Resort on November 2-5 with a series of events leading up to the big race. The nearly sold-out race weekend is expected to draw more than 45,000 runners, spectators, and fans, and it will finish with an exclusive after party at Epcot during the International Food & Wine Festival. This year’s race weekend will be better than ever, as 5K and Half Marathon participants race through Pandora for the first time.
Also new for this year, the 5K has been reimagined as the Disney Fall Feast 5K, and the expo will feature an interactive zone with fun for the whole family

How the Star Wars Half Marathon Will Affect You

Thousands of runners are preparing to jump into lightspeed for the Star Wars Half Marathon – The Dark Side Weekend on April 21-23. During this imperial running event (which officially begins on Friday, April 21 at 6:00 a.m.), Guests and Cast Members driving in certain areas of the Walt Disney World Resort may find that select roads will be closed to traffic to allow the runners to safely enjoy the event. In addition to that, some of the offerings at Epcot and Hollywood Studios may be impacted by the event.

•FriendShip Boat Transportation to and from Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be delayed until 11 a.m.

•Guests will have the option to use bus transportation from the Epcot Resorts and Epcot.

TRANSPORTATION AND PARKING FOR THE 2016 EVENT

Mears shuttles will transport Guests to and from host resorts to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Epcot for the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo, runDisney Kids Races, Mickey’s Holiday 5K, Disney Wine & Dine 10K and the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon. Buses will be indicated by runDisney signs placed in the front windows. Please, note that transportation is only provided to and from host resorts. Guests who do not stay at a host resort are responsible for their own transportation to and from race-related events.

There will be no parking or runner drop-off (including Taxi service) at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex Sunday morning for the Half Marathon. Guests who wish to use a personal vehicle or taxi for Sunday morning’s events are required to park or drop off at Epcot (free parking for all participants and spectators).
