Pro Bowl Events Coming to ESPN Wide World of Sports

The Walt Disney World Resort is excited to welcome the NFL and its legion of devoted fans coming to Central Florida for the action-packed excitement of Pro Bowl week, celebrating all levels of football from youth to high school to the NFL’s best.

As the venue for the AFC and NFC team practices and many of the Pro Bowl Week festivities, Walt Disney World Resort is delighted to play a supporting role with Orlando in what will be a great win for Central Florida and sports fans.
ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex will host the team’s practices as well as multiple football competitions and activities, which are the perfect fit for the sports complex given that it hosts youth and NFL events, such as the Pop Warner Super Bowl, the Gruden QB Camp and the Tom Shaw Performance Camp.

Here is a quick view of what’s going on across property during Pro Bowl week. All events at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex are free and open to the public:
•EA Sports Madden Tournament – EWWOS Complex – Jan. 25-27
•Pro Bowl Experience Fan Zone – EWWOS Complex – Jan. 24-27
•Pro Bowl practices for AFC/NFC teams – EWWOS Complex – Jan. 24-27
•Pro Bowl Fun Run Series – EWWOS Complex – Jan. 27
•Pro Bowl All Star Pep Rally – Disney Springs – Jan. 27

Additional competitions at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex during Pro Bowl Week include youth flag football and more.

Guests who attend Pro Bowl Week will quickly find that Central Florida and Walt Disney World Resort offer an excellent backdrop for all the game’s activities. Winter Summerland To Close for Refurbishment

Guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort in the coming weeks should keep in mind that, due to a scheduled refurbishment, the Summer Course at Disney’s Winter Summerland Miniature Golf will be closed from October 9 through October 23.
Both courses (the Summer Course and Winter Course) will be closed from October 23 through November 10, reopening on November 11. Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf will remain open for Guests during that time.
During the refurbishment, the carpet of both courses will be replaced, and some of the props seen around the courses will be repainted and/or replaced (minor work was already performed around the courses a few months ago).

How the Star Wars Half Marathon Will Affect You

Thousands of runners are preparing to jump into lightspeed for the Star Wars Half Marathon – The Dark Side Weekend on April 21-23. During this imperial running event (which officially begins on Friday, April 21 at 6:00 a.m.), Guests and Cast Members driving in certain areas of the Walt Disney World Resort may find that select roads will be closed to traffic to allow the runners to safely enjoy the event. In addition to that, some of the offerings at Epcot and Hollywood Studios may be impacted by the event.

*Guest impacts at Epcot on Sunday, April 23:

•FriendShip Boat Transportation to and from Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be delayed until 11 a.m.

•Guests will have the option to use bus transportation from the Epcot Resorts and Epcot.

•Express Transportation will begin at approximately 1 p.m.

There will be in-park impacts at Epcot on Sunday, April 23 until approximately 10:30 a.m. Guests will receive information at Auto Plaza and Main Entrance informing them of race impacts.

Be sure to plan a little extra time to cross the race course, as there will be only three in-park crosswalk locations at Epcot:

•Pin Central East towards Test Track/Mission: SPACE

•Future World Bridge near Agent P Kiosk

*Guest impacts at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Sunday, April 23:

•Friendship Boat transportation to and from Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be delayed until 11 a.m.

•Guests will have the option to utilize bus transportation to the Epcot Resorts and Epcot.

•Express Transportation will begin at approximately 1 p.m.

•There will be no Extra Magic Hours on the morning of Sunday, April 23 for Resort Guests.

There will be one in-park crosswalk location at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard. Guests will receive information at Toll Plaza and Main Entrance.

AFC vs. NFC as the NFL Pro Bowl Comes to Orlando and the Walt Disney World Resort
